PROPERTY ACCESSIBILITY

This is a historic property. The Artifact Inn has limited accessibility features. There are no elevators or lifts to access upper floors in either building. Guests may encounter stairs and other features that are not handicapped accessible or may pose challenges to anyone with mobility problems.

Other areas of the property, including the Farmacy Café, the Courtyard, on-site retail establishments, and the public restrooms, are ADA-compliant and accessible.

Arrival

The Artifact is located in two (2) buildings at the northeast corner of 8th Avenue and G Street in San Diego, California.

The main entrance is the black pedestrian gate marked “ENTRANCE” on G Street between Building A and Building B. Please use this gate entrance when arriving at the hotel. Codes to access are supplied with your check-in instructions.

Parking

We do not have off-street parking.

Street parking is metered. On-street meters should be expected to be enforced 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Sundays and holidays are free.

The City of San Diego enforces a No Parking street sweeping schedule one night per week between midnight and 3:00 AM. Please look for posted signs.

Self-serve parking lots may be found across the street on the south side of G Street, and also one block away at the corner of 8th Avenue and F Street. Rates vary by time of day and day of week.

Reception

This is a self-serve, no-contact inn. There is no guest reception area or staff to greet incoming guests.

Guests receive check-in information and access codes electronically to access the property and room just prior to check-in time on the arrival date.

Orientation

The Inn has a total of twelve (12) guest rooms:

  • Seven (7) in Building A

  • Five (5) in Building B

Upon entering the ENTRANCE gate:

  • Building A is on the left

  • The three-story Building B is on the right

The open staircase to Building A leads to:

  • King and Queen Suite

  • Queen Suites

  • Four Guest Rooms

The side door entrance at Building B leads to the five units known as The Residences.

Public Toilet Facilities

There are three (3) public restrooms on the grounds.

  • Two are located inside The Farmacy Café and are ADA-compliant

  • One ADA-compliant restroom is located on the ground floor of the main building, just outside the back entrance to the café

Two additional public restrooms are located on the second floor of the main building. These restrooms are not ADA accessible and may be accessed only via the back stairs.

The Courtyard

The Courtyard is the outdoor area that separates Building A and Building B. It is accessed from the G Street gate entrance or from either building directly.

The Courtyard is fully paved and furnished with a variety of outdoor furniture, with no impediments to easy wheelchair maneuverability. Restroom facilities are located adjacent to and inside The Farmacy.
